There is at least one wedding a year that tops every other wedding I have been to. Ironically my own brother’s wedding has held a high position for a long time as it was on a beautiful beach in New Zealand. Everyone raves about some of the shots I got. Part of the reason it worked out so well though was because we spent about an hour just playing around with different set ups on another beach away from the guests. I have put a couple below so you can see what I mean.

However this June I attended a stunning wedding at Sheldon Manor near Chippenham. The forecast was for rain I believe, but all we saw all day long was Sunshine. The grounds of Sheldon Manor are stunning in every way; so many pretty corners, I could have taken photos of the bride and groom in different spots for days!

Sheldon manor can only accomodate a smallish number of wedding guests so there was a very sweet looking marquee that was very light and airy. Just as well we had the weather for it!

The all important dress and shoes.

On this occassion I met the bride and groom on the day, as living in London they had not been able to pay me a visit beforehand. So it was a case of “pleased to meet you, now can you stand here please?” Not my preferred way of working, but it worked out really well actually. I had had a few conversations on the phone beforehand though and I think that had made it a lot easier to get straight into it.

There were a few siamese cats wandering around the place. This was a source of entertainment for the little girls.

Probably one of my all time favourite shots. It just shows how beautiful the day was and the timing of this photo was just right.

Another of the intimate shots during our time away from the guests.

I think the guests were quite happy pleasing themselves sitting in the dappled sunlight chatting.

The children were kept amused with a bubble machine. I definitely recommend having a bubble machine at your wedding, the kids love it and it makes for very cute photos.

The wedding cake was actually three big cheeses. It was great with crackers.

I set up this shot on the tripod. I was lucky enough to have the moon in the shot. You can see the people in the photo as blurring movement under the marquee; very atmospheric.
