Preston School website photography
Back in 2012 the secondary school urgently needed to refresh their existing stock of website photography. Although many photographs had been taken 4 years prior by another photographer, they visually didn’t make the most of the positives of the school and weren’t of a great technical standard.
Some staff headshots were also required of the senior staff members.
A timetable was drawn up to make sure I had time with each pupil or group of pupils in a pre-arranged subject context. This allowed me to take more control and provide photography of a higher standard.
The final photos were very well received. So much so an extra day was arranged to get more photos of some different subjects. The Academy now has an excellent selection of school website photography that will be used not only online, but also to produce visually appealing promotional materials such as prospectuses, flyers etc, to show off what the school has to offer.

College prospectus photography
Some years back Bridgwater & Taunton College asked me to provide prospectus photography for them. The new prospectus photos needed to show each student in the context of what they were studying from a number of angles to allow many options for the designers.
Students needed to be looking engaged and enjoying themselves. I then went about photographing each student in a given time slot trying out a number of scenarios.
Aside from some supporting images, visually my photography was the main core of the college prospectus. Along with the work of the designers, the result was an engaging finished product.
Some of the images were later used as large format photo boards that lined the corridor at the college, as well as being used in multiple other publications, flyers, the website, and livery on local buses.
The photo shoots were spread over a couple of weeks and produced a wealth of high quality colourful images that greatly helped the college draw attention to its excellent facilities.
Since those first photos, I have worked with BTC for many years, each year raising the bar a little bit more on the quality of the photos I provide. The photos are now used much more widely. I am also often booked by Bridgwater & Taunton College for various awards ceremonies and conferences that they hold throughout the year.
