Today I had a wonderful day at Hestercombe Gardens. I have photographed two weddings there already, but today was a chance to just wander around in the sunshine and simply take it all in. I was accompanied by my friend Emma and her angelic little girl Jenny. It was such a lovely day, there was no traffic noise, the birds were singing and the flowers were swaying in the wind. We even had a picnic amongst the buttercups whilst we were there.
Whilst we were sat down we were visited by a very large swan. At first we wondered if we had upset it as it came closer, but all it seemed to be interested in was eating the buttercups. Upon realising it was a friendly swan I took a few shots.
I also spotted some brightly coloured thistles in bloom. There were dozens of bumble bees feeding on the nectar.
Definitely my favourite shots of the day were of Jenny as she tested to see if she liked butter with a handy buttercup. Thankfully she did like butter, the buttercup proved it after all! Jenny also had a lot of fun collecting pine cones as with each one she found she held it up triumphantly.
